Borealis, the Canadian Dataverse Repository / le dépôt Dataverse canadien (formerly Scholars Portal Dataverse) is updating our Terms of Use. On June 23, the updated Terms will go into effect for existing users, and users who create new accounts will need to agree to the updated Terms.

The updates are necessary in order to reflect the new name and the current service. At a glance, the new updates include:
- A new introduction to describe the service and who the service is available to
- Updated language about the Service Provider
- Additional information about affiliation with participating institutions and organizations
- Improved readability and clarification around sensitive and confidential data
- New language around data preservation
