Borealis is planning to upgrade to version 5.12.1 on February 1. Please note the platform will be unavailable during the upgrade from approximately 10 am - 4 pm ET.
This upgrade brings exciting new features, including:
- New standardized Creative Commons licenses
- New license selection confirmation pop-up window prior to publication or submit-for-review
- New requirements for any restricted data deposited to have Terms of Access in metadata or Access Requests enabled
- Ability to mute certain notifications
- Dataset name included in all email notifications*
- GeoJSON format identification and previewer improvements*
- Users will be provided with clickable links for ORCIDs and other IDs in the dataset metadata
- Improved file upload handling and messaging
- “Verify email” button changed to “Send verification email” with fresh verification email each time
- Tabular ingest can be skipped via API by any depositor*
- Accessibility improvements*
- Collection page loading optimization
- Improved indexing performance on datasets with large numbers of files
- Upgrade to the backend Payara server for improved application performance
- Bug fixes
- And more!

To test these features, feel free to use our demo sandbox environment once it's upgraded (January 13).
Please note: Globus integration and remote storage linking are not included in this upgrade due to further development required.
