We are pleased to announce that the Borealis Steering Committee has appointed the Dataverse North Expert Group, part of the Digital Research Alliance of Canada’s RDM Network of Experts, to a new advisory role to support national governance of the Borealis service. As part of this transition, the group's name will be changed to the Borealis Expert Group.

Originally established in 2017, Dataverse North (DVN) has helped foster a community of research data management (RDM) experts from across Canadian institutions and libraries who support Dataverse repository services. This new advisory role marks an important evolution, recognizing the group’s deep expertise and collaborative leadership in helping to establish Borealis as a national repository service.

The Borealis Expert Group will provide advice based on community-informed perspectives, helping to guide the repository’s development as it responds to the evolving needs of Canadian researchers. Learn more about the members and goals of the Borealis Expert Group.

We extend our sincere thanks to all members of the Borealis Expert Group (previously DVN) for their continued dedication. Their contributions have laid the foundation for this next phase of national collaboration, and we look forward to supporting the Borealis Expert Group as it takes on this new role over the coming year.
