Push NZ settings to the IZ members

Note: These jobs will have to be run any time changes are made at the NZ level and need to be pushed out.

Fulfillment Network configuration sharing

If you are using an Automated Fulfillment Network (AFN), the first job is required to be run. If you are not using one, you only need to run this job if you are updating any of the items centrally and sharing them out to your IZ members.

  • Login to Alma
  • Click on FULFILLMENT
  • Under ADVANCED TOOLS, click on DISTRIBUTE FULFILLMENT NETWORK CONFIGURATION TO MEMBERS
    • This job does the following:
      • Distributes TOUs
      • Distributes Policies (Omni doesn’t set these at the NZ level)
      • Distributes display logic rules (Omni doesn’t do these at the NZ)
      • Distributes Fulfillment Units (Omni only distributes templates of these from the NZ)
      • Distributes Fulfillment Unit Rules
      • Distribute General Electronic Services (Omni doesn’t do this at the NZ level)
      • Distribute General Electronic Service Rules (Omni doesn’t do this at the NZ level)
  • Click OK to start the job

Resource Sharing configuration sharing

This job will need to be done any time new partners are added, or rotas or workflows are updated. If you are using an Automated Fulfillment Network, this job should be run any time the Fulfillment Network sharing job is run.

  • Click on FULFILLMENT
  • Under ADVANCED TOOLS, click DISTRIBUTE RESOURCE SHARING NETWORK CONFIGURATION
    • This job does the following:
      • Distributes Resource Sharing Partners
      • Distributes Rota Templates
      • Distributes Workflow Profiles
      • Distributes Rota Assignment Rules
      • Distributes Locate Profiles
      • Distributes Sending Borrowing Request Rules
  • Click OK to start the job

Each of these jobs will ONLY push out changes made since the last time the job was run if run manually. If scheduled, they will push out everything, not just the incremental changes.

  • Check the status of the jobs by clicking ADMIN, then MONITOR JOBS, then click the HISTORY tab

Caveats

When partners are shared, a couple of the fields on the Parameters tab are NOT distributed:

  • Send requester information
  • Shared barcodes

These need to be set (as required) at the IZ level. They do keep their local values if the partner is redistributed.
