Pause AFN participation for a partner
When a partner needs to be made inactive in the AFN, there are two methods, depending on what is desired or required.
Option 1: No requesting or receiving of requests within the AFN at all
In this instance, the member institution will remain in all rotas and rota templates but will just be marked as inactive, which means that nobody will be able to interact with that partner to send requests to them or for them to send requests out.
The institution needs to be set to inactive in the Network Zone and pushed out to all partners.
- Log into the NZ Alma
- Fulfillment > Resource Sharing > Partners
- Find the partner and click the '...' and choose 'Edit'
- Set the 'Status' to 'Inactive'
- Click 'Save'
Next, this needs to be pushed out to all members
- Log into the NZ Alma
- Fulfillment > Advanced Tools > Distribute Resource Sharing Network Configuration
When the partner is ready to resume operations, repeat the steps, but in step 5, change to 'Active'. Ensure the partner is redistributed.
Option 2: The Partner wishes to continue to request, but is unable to fulfill materials within the AFN
In this instance, the member institution will be removed from the rota and rota templates, but will remain active so that they can continue to interact with other resource sharing partners.
- Log into the NZ Alma
- Fulfillment > Resource Sharing > Rota Templates
- Find the relevant rota ("AFN - Omni Northern Schools" or "AFN - Omni Southern Schools"), and click the '...' and choose 'Edit'
- Click on the "Template Members" tab
- Find the partner, click the '...' and choose 'Remove'
