Pausing Resource Sharing

There are cases where an institution may wish to block incoming requests from partners added via the Resource Sharing Directory.

This has to be done in the local Resource Sharing library configuration.

To fully block all incoming requests (physical and digital):

1. Log into IZ Alma
2. Click the gear (bottom left) for Configuration
3. At the top of the screen select your RESOURCE SHARING LIBRARY
4. On the left, click FULFILLMENT
5. Under LIBRARY MANAGEMENT, click LIBRARY DETAILS
6. On the 'Summary' tab:
   1. Find the 'Temporarily inactive for lending' option under 'Lending Setup' and ensure that the checkbox is selected.
7. Click 'Save'

To block all incoming physical requests:

1. Log into IZ Alma
2. Click the gear (bottom left) for Configuration
3. Fulfillment > Contribute to Resource Sharing Directory > Resource Sharing Directory Member
4. Go to the main Resource Sharing entry and click the '...' and choose 'Edit'
5. Go to the 'Physical Items Lending Policies' tab
   1. Unselect the 'Supplies physical items' checkbox
6. Click 'Save'

Note that when saved, it will not take effect in the Resource Sharing Directory until the following day.
