To allow a previously unexposed patron group to be able to access the AFN, there are two steps that need to be done:

  1. Remove the patron group from the Restricted Users list
  2. Update the rota assignment rules to allow the patron group access to that rota

Removing from the Restricted Users list

  1. Login to Alma IZ
  2. Click the gear in the lower left
  3. In the CONFIGURING drop down at the top left of the screen, ensure your top-level institution scope is selected (NOT your resource sharing library)
  4. Click USER MANAGEMENT
  5. Under Collaborative Networks, click RESTRICTED USERS
  6. Find the row with the patron group that you wish to expose to the AFN
    1. Click '...' and select 'DELETE'
  7. Repeat these steps for each user group which should now be exposed to the AFN.
  8. Click SAVEĀ in the upper right

This step can sometimes take overnight to fully expose the patron group.

Updating the Rota Assignment Rules

  1. Login to IZ Alma
  2. Click on the gear (Configuration)
  3. Click on FULFILLMENT
  4. Under the RESOURCE SHARING heading, click ROTA ASSIGNMENT RULES
  5. In the Institution Rules section, look for the AFN rota
  6. For each AFN rota you wish to update, click '...' and choose 'EDIT'
    1. Under the INPUT PARAMETERS section, look for the "User Group" name.
    2. Click the '...' and choose 'EDIT'
      1. If the operator is set to "NOTINLIST", remove the patron groups exposed in the first step from the list in VALUE.
      2. If the operator is set to "INLIST", add the patron groups exposed in the first step to the list in VALUE.
      3. Click SAVE
  7. Click SAVE in the upper right
